The Start of The Purses

Good morning,
I'm in my element today, all rugged up (I know, can you believe it).  It is cold today, so I've jumped out of bed and straight onto the computer.  Was thinking about a cup of tea but that will have to wait now.
So I thought I would post a few bags that are so cute and can also be laid out flat if you are travelling anywhere and want to take it as a gift (love that!)  I cased it from Patti Lee.  Her name is on my side bar.  She is oh so excellent and has tons of 3D, my favourite.

I have started with this cute little scallop purses, all ready for Easter or Mothers Day, if you like.  I think I put the punch up too high, close to the scallops, so just be aware of that when you are doing it.  I am going to show you another one I did but using the scallop oval punch, for the opening.

Different huh!   I didn't line up my zig zags very well, did I?!  Oh well, that's life!!

My two purses together.  Over the next couple of days, I have more purses with tutorials, they will be the flat bags.  Sorry forgot I was going to do a tutorial on them and not awake enough at the moment to do that.  I also have a couple of friends coming over tonight for a scrapping-a-thon, he he.  SO I need to do a bit of baking, which is what I am off to do now!
Just a quick low down on the instructions:
2  scallop circles  from big shot
1 5" x 5" card to match the dsp used on the scallop circles      scored at 2", 3" and 5"
                                                                                             scored at 1", 4" and 5"
make the box, fold on the score lines and cut the edges and tape to make box  (if you would like me to make a tutorial on this, just let me know)
Keeping the two scallop circles together punch your hole.  It is easier to do it this way and then to go to the bottom of the circle and count 7 scallops and score a line (on both scallop circles).  This will be your base, that goes under the box
Put tape on outside of box (do this front and back).  Then place one scallop circle onto one side, and do the same with the back.  Then place tape on the bottom flap of your scallop circle and secure under box.  Done, now you can decorate.
I know these are very basic instructions but if you need more I will do that tutorial.
Stamp set:  Easter blossoms
Card:  Yellow, dsp - greenhouse gala
Ink:  chocolate chip
Acc:  twine and ribbon
Tools:  Scallop circle die, big shot, lge oval punch, scallop punch.
Have a lovely day.....

  1. Hi Theresa, these are lovely. The slightly crooked zig zags just make it look more funky.
