Happy Mothers Day

Happy Mothers Day
I hope everyone has had a lovely Mothers Day.  I had my cup of tea in bed and that made me extremely happy.  It is always the small things isn't it!!  I just loved it and of course I got some little gifts from the school stall which were lovely.  A friend and I made these with the class, which I absolutely love.  I think she found them on pinterest but I am not sure.  Of course when I got home I made some (three) for my Mum and then some for me (because I love them so much).  They would even be great as Christmas presents.  I am in love with these pots.....
A couple of rolled flowers using Stampin' Up dsp, Christmas pack though you wouldn't know it!
A closer look.  I did use the glue gun to adhere the raffia and flowers
And what good is a message without a drawing, even if you have to do it yourself!
I forgot to mention that they are chalk board painted so we can write messages on there all the time.
I had bought these flowers for myself and even though they look gorgeous is the pot I am not sure if I am going to put herbs or flowers in them!!!  Decisions, decisions....
Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely rest of your day....

Side view to show you the lovely blue brads and the folds.

Ink:  Chocolate chip and baja breeze smudging

Mother's Day Card To My Mum

Hi,
Unusual for me to do two posts in the one day, these days but I just gave my Mum her card and thought I would post it for you.  We made this a couple of weeks ago on Crafters Anonymous so I can't give you instructions but it is easy to make and looks so effective.  It is a swing card, I will show you Mum's first and then the one I did on the night,

Have a lovely evening....

A Pouch Full of Cards For Mum

Hi everyone,
I am doing an early/late post as I am going to be so busy tomorrow morning, I won't have time to get on the net.  So here is a lovely little pouch and 3" x 3" cards, I cased from Barb - one of my favourite sites.  And she has changed it.  I am always taken back when blogs are changed, have to check and make sure I am on the right one.  Anyway, this is a cute little pouch for Mum, I am actually giving our school teacher one as well, I love them so much.
So funny, in my pictures it looks brown but luckily for me it has come up perfect plum.  Instead of just showing all the pictures and giving quick instructions, I have a few more photos so I will let you know as we go.

1 piece of 12" x 12" card  -  stamp or wheel the whole sheet with an image, I used versa mark and love how it has come up.  Cut in half.  With one piece of 6" x 12" cut into four 3" x 6" for small cards.
Other piece  6" x 12"     score 1 1/4" and 4 3/4"   on 6" side
                                     score 21/8", 55/8", 57/8", 93/8" and 95/8"  on the 12" side
Cut out the four corners and two middle bits on angles so you can fold easier, check photo above
Barb has a great tutorial on her blog.
Cut four pieces of ribbon 6".  Attach a glue dot to each end to wrap around love notes.
Cut longer piece of ribbon (sorry, I forgot how long I cut it) for the band of your pouch.  Now decorate.  How easy and cute is this.

Stamp set:  Forest friends, winter post, easter blossoms,  and roller - very vintage
Card:  Perfect plum, whisper white, elegant eggplant
Ink:  Versa mark, elegant eggplant
Acc:  kraft ribbon
Tools:  1 3/8" and 1 1/4" circles
Try it, you will love it.
Have a lovely evening.....

Buckle Box

Good morning,
Now how is this for a cute box and cards.  Also perfect for Mother's Day.  I want to make a buckle card too so I will get that done in the next few days.  This box was cased from Flowerbug's Inkspot (on the side bar), another one of my favourite blogs.  She has great instructions on there as well.
See, wouldn't that be perfect as a Mother's Day gift, maybe add a box of chocolates.  Here are the cards I made to go with it.

I used some  rub on's I got int he last catalogue.

I hope you like this as much as I did, just wait until you make it, fun to make as well.
Card:  Chocolate chip, dsp - greenhouse gala, baja breeze, pacific point, riding hood red, cake crumb
Acc:  Designer buttons, retired rub-ons
Tools:  Word window punch, eyelet scallop border punch, corner rounder punch, big shot, scallop envelope
            die
Some quick directions:
card  5 1/2" x 8"  scored  51/2" side      1" each end
scored  8" side      3 1/4" from each end       cut the two middle tabs and fold up to make
                                                        box.
dsp  scallop envelope, cut the side flaps and some of the back so you can crease on the fold.  Place tape on scallop envelope and tape down.
card (same colour)  1 1/2" x 6"  for buckle
dsp                         1" x 6"  for top of buckle
Insert word window punch as far as possible, in the middle, and punch.  Make buckle strap by adhering dsp to card and using corner rounder or scissors to cut ends to look like buckle.
Decorate your box.  I loved the use of the button, liking buttons more and more.
Have a lovely day.....

Another Tea Bag Holder for Mum

Morning,
I have finally decided to do a post because I can't sleep.  The day's are going too quickly or is it just that Easter happened far too late this year!  Surely we could have changed that!!  I thought I had more time to post for Mother's Day but there is only a week, oh my!  And I have another tea bag holder, sorry I will have a bag for tomorrow.  But I am loving these holders and can't resist the post.
Today I have a cute tea bag holder that I cased from Waltzing Mouse Stamps, can fit quite a few tea bags, or better yet, tea bag and some of Mum's favourite chocolates, sounds much better.
I love the morning cup stamp set and have wanted this set for ages, and now that I have it, I am going to use it heaps.  This has to be one of my favourite sets.  I think it is so sweet.

A little 3 x 3 card I made to go with it.

The little set together.  The instructions and template actually had a button on the front of the holder which I really liked but didn't know how to put it on.  Something for me to think about the next time I make it.
Stamp set:  Morning cup
Card:  Baja breeze, very vanilla, retired dsp (sorry, just decided to start using up some of the set I have kept
for so long because I love it so much.
Ink:  Baja breeze, wild wasabi
Acc:  Ribbon - retired
Tools:  crop-a-dial
Thanks for popping in, have a lovely day....

Pocket Folder and Cards for Mum

Morning,
I have a cute pocket folder and 3 x 3 card set to give to Mum.  It is so sweet, I wish I had made it earlier so I could have shown our school, for Mother's Day.  Just a tad late.....  Anyway, found this on Flowerbug's blog (details over on the side bar)
My sister thinks this is a bit dark for Mum, but I really like black.  Don't use much of it, but want to use more.  Everyone's a critic!!!  Maybe I will make a pink one for Mum!!

This is the folder open, no tape or anything keeping it together.  See why I love it and would love to make heaps of them, easy.
7" x 7" card    scored in half, turn and score in half again.  Cut the two end squares on an angle, as you can see above (there is a tutorial on Flowerbug's blog).  No tape, as it just stays in place, love it...
Then decorate and make your card.  Oh, don't forget when adding ribbon to add it before taping/gluing your front!!

Just plain, simple cards.  I didn't add a sentiment, as I get complaints.  They like to write their own thing on, then it doesn't matter what it is for.

And that is the finish of a cute easy note holder.
Stamp set:  Well scripted, Love defined
Card:  Basic black, pink pirouette, very vanilla
Ink:  Basic black, pink pirouette
Acc:  Ribbon
Tools:  Big shot, butterfly embosslits, scallop oval punch, lge oval punch, paper piercer and mat pack.
Have a lovely day.....

Mother's Day Card

Good morning,
Another Card, found this one on Dannie's blog (her details are on the side bar, to check out what she did and her tutorial).  I have seen it on other blogs but I followed Dannie's instructions.  Cute little card to put with a pressie for Mum.
I made two at the same time, but with two different flowers, so this is the first one.

And here is the other.  Just using two different punches.  I love my punches
And here are the two together.  Just be careful when sticking the dsp top note to the card top note that you leave enough room for the inside card.  It is easy to put too much glue or tape on and not be able to fit your card inside.
Card:  Riding hood red, pumpkin pie, very vanilla, dsp - greenhouse gala and wild wasabi
Acc:  Pumpkin pie ribbon, riding hood red ribbon, twine, brads
Tools:  5 petal punch, scallop circle punch, boho blossom punch, big shot, top note die and round tab punch
Cut out top note in card and dsp.  Score approx. 1" down on dsp and turn over for contrasting look.  Glue or tape down.
Same colour card  2 3/8" x 3 3/8"
Very vanilla/whisper white  2 1/2" x 3 1/2"
round tab punch same colour or contrasting colour for pull out.
Thanks for stopping,
Have a great day....

Mother's Day Tea/Coffee Bag Holder

Hi All,
I am doing another post tonight as I have quite a few things for Mother's Day and am worried I won't be able to show all of them to you.  So you get two in one day, today.
This is a gorgeous little holder I found on It's a Stamp Thing.  The link is on the other post I did today (card),  I really liked this holder and not just because she used my favourite stamp set!
I have used my markers on the stamp and for colouring, should have used the pencils or crayons but I do like this look.  All trial and error.

With and without the tea bag in.  I have run out of coffee sachets and they would look great in there too.

I am so excited, I am finally taking decent pictures, no matter what the weather!  I just have to work out my water mark and then I will be set.
Stamp set:  Morning cup
Card:  Rich razelberry, very vanilla, dsp - retired.
Ink:  Elegant eggplant, old olive, regal rose, river rock and chocolate chip
Acc:  Ribbon - retired
Tools:  Crop-a-dial
Vicki has instructions on her site but if you would like me to do a tutorial, just let me know.
Just some quick instructions:
1 piece of card 31/2" x 10 1/2"  scored at 3 1/2" and 7".  Cut last piece (that folds in) on an angle (seen in picture above) to fit in your tea bag and the rest is decoration.  Have fun
Have a lovely night.....

Happy Mothers Day

Good morning, yes I am still morning! Just.  Hope everyone day a lovely Easter, as you can see, it took me awhile to recover.  So I have been busy making some cute Mother's Day cards and boxes.  And I thought I should start with a card:

The outside and inside.  I am tying to decorate my cards inside now.  I have been very slack before.  I cased this card from It's as a stamp thing,  Vicki has some really beautiful cards on her blog but lots of work.  I love casing, there are so many beautiful works of art out there and when you case, you don't have to think, and I love that!!!
Stamp set:  24/7 and Well Scripted
Card:  Baja breeze, very vanilla, dsp - retired (sorry, I will be using a bit of retired stuff, as this is my all time favourite dsp and when better to use it than Mother's Day - so please excuse me for that)
Ink:  Baja breeze, old olive, regal rose and ruby red.
Acc:  Ribbon - marina mist, dimensionals and glue dots
Tools:  Big shot, vintage wallpaper embossing folder, scallop oval punch and lge oval punch.
Nice to be back, sorry if I am a bit erratic with my posting but sometimes I have so much study to do.  This weekend I am going to try and make lots of things so I have heaps for you to look at or make!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day....
